The best possible end to this would have been them buying Vito's bad excuse 100%, then they sit around for the rest of the episode fearfully discussing how to avoid the pills that turn you gay.

>"dis ain't good, Tone, I take blood pressure medication!"
Then at the end it shows them beating the shit out of a pharmacist.

Yeah that's something I suspected too. Like he thinks all these characters beefing over fucking nothing like the Ginny Sack joke is actually funny rather than a horribly dark look at sociopathic behavior.

The whole Vito thing was dark. If you ignore the whole gay aspect of it it was I think the largest window into how much hate can be directed at a single person in the show (except for AJ punishing his family). But it's altogether far more likely Chase wanted these characters to fuck up a faggot. Like I seriously think the reason why Frank Vincent and Tony Sirico's performances were so fucking good is because they actually would or did say things like the said. Like we'll never know but they probably straight-faced a ton of the shit they said. I mean Paulie was only added to the fucking script because of Sirico's audition so presumably Chase just wanted him to be him in a show.

It would have been hilarious but I really don't think there was ever a moment in the whole series where any of these characters turned from their prejudices (excluding Tony). Nobody was going to buy Vito's excuse for the medication - they knew what homosexuality was.

Excluding Paulie (who just kinda went crazy over Mary and psychics only in the last season), all of them had a pretty deterministic view of everything. Things happen - and there is a reaction.

That was something that made the show horrifying in a ways. Furio's uncle said it - these bosses know everything. And it was true, everyone actually fucking figured out the truth all the time. Like Sil knew Tony killed Chris, that was fucking superhuman how he caught the slip.

I bet a lot of the sick stuff came straight from Chase since he lived around that type of people and it was a way of life for him. He most likely saw himself as Tony and directed him to do the shit that Chase fantasized about doing himself.

Retard take. The intended tone of the show is totally clear. A lot of this stuff IS funny and it is more or less authentic to these types of characters, but it's very dark humor, and the way it's presented does have a clear sense of morality even though pretty much all the characters are immoral or amoral to some degree. He doesn't shove a message down your throat but he is clearly aware how this all comes off

Does it really matter if Tony dies right there? He's fucked anyways because Carlo turned informant and the indictment was coming - same fate as Johnny Sack. 20 years and forfeiture of 95% of assets, which is essentially the entire family's assets: the Bing, Satriale's, the esplanade, garbage, construction, etc. Basically Carm gets the house and a car; college for the kids is done.

I don't know how these actors are compensated - I always imagined they got paid a rate for a season regardless of how many scenes they shot (within reason).

But it seems to me that there was probably a lot of shit happening. For example, Gandolfini aggressively negotiated something like a million/episode after the first season and he got it. And he "felt bad" that the other actors were suddenly getting so little so he had them come to his trailer where he handed them a wad of cash. And when Falco was asked about this she said she didn't see any money, which suggests she wasn't a part of the clique. And I kinda felt sorry for her because she went sober and couldn't party with the others, who were doing coke and drinking intensely.

Like being jealous of Vito's character getting personalized scenes seems very believable. But I really can't see him being paid more for it.

When Tony was explaining to the guys how Christopher died he said something like, "He choked on his own blood *everyone moans*; apparently that's how he died." And it cuts to Sil raising his eyebrow.

You don't say "apparently" right after you say how the doctors said he died. It means Tony disputes what the doctors said about how Chris died and the only way he would dispute that is if he knew otherwise how Chris died. Sil caught Tony's accidental contradiction.
