The casting does really look weird in retrospect. Pedro has an army of people on Filmtwitter and left social media but that doesn't seem to translate much to box office success, and some people definitely are turned off by him. The other two guys are literal who, but the most bewildering thing is Vanessa Kirby as your colead.

Does she have any fanbase at all? Has she carried anything ever before? I don't think so, and she's not attractive enough to move the needle on people otherwise unsure of going.

I'm convinced that any other potential white woman blue eyed lead, Jennifer Lawrence, Sydney Sweeney (she'd need the character aged down a little but not a big deal), Emma Stone, Margot Robbie, even Dakota Johnson despite being totally unsuited for comic book movies--they all would have helped this movie do better. They all have fanbases and are perceived as more conventionally attractive than bogged and relative unknown Kirby. Would be curious to know if they at least asked any of those 5 actresses first.

Reed fucks up Galactus at one point by himself. He pulls a pipe off a water tower and uses it as a lever to open the ports on Galactus' back that he feeds on planets through. It momentarily causes him pain and stops him. Johnny blinds Galactus for a bit by torching his eyes. Thing slows Galactus for a while by tossing trucks at him and hitting him with a crane. Galactus throws Thing at one point, and Johnny gets him. He then flies at Galactus and they both slam into him together. Reed saves the baby while Sue is pushing Galactus back. So Thing runs through the support pillars of the building causing it to collapse so Galatus will lose his grip. They all basically have a moment where they solo him in their own ways and together.

It was mid. Sue was the soul of the movie, and her scenes were pretty good. Unironically the strong female they've been trying to come up with the whole time and it was relatively successful.
