George deciding to off on 14 tangents instead of pushing the current plot threads forward. Bookfags can cope till he dies, but he killed the story where released A Feast For Crows. Having a sprawling plot then expanding it and turning every character into a travelogue is disastrous for writer who is slow asf.
All the way back in 2000 Gurm got butthurt that Harry Potter beat out his books at some gay award show and decided to stop making an honest attempt at writing the series, afterwards releasing only two bloated meandering dogshit books that didn't move the plot along at all.
As a result a decade and a half later the show ran out of good material and the TV writers had to make everything up themselves.

It's a story about subverting tropes and they can only end with everyone dead or giving up. It can't end with Jon obtaining the magic mcguffin sword and killing the demons to become a king but it can't end with Jon dying in a ditch either
>skip half of the characters and plots from the books >eventually diverge from books halfway through series despite obviously having no plans or ideas for main characters after s4 >write purposefully bad shit for no reason despite s1 original scenes being of high quality >rush ending to get that star wars money (denied anyway)
You may as well treat Tywin dying as the end of the show to avoid a lot of disappointment.

the plot twists in the last two books are the problem, they are long, meandering and somehow after two thousand pages the story almost the exact same story as ASOSβ¦. Ya know, season 4. You faggots need to realize aint solid gold.

Too many seasons. Two or three seasons would have been fine, no need for 8. It was 8 right... 8 seasons of what at the end of the day is a simple enough story. There wasn't loads of interesting subplots, just filler and lots of lengthy action scenes with no dialogue. No wonder I can't bring myself to watch it again, it was boring enough the first time.

Everyone believed he'd finish the books before the show ended. Then they started coping by saying shit like "GRRM Told the cast how it ends". Which was BS because it starts deviating from the books.
D&D are hacks.
What's funny is if it ended how GRRM wrote in the future books and the hate it got forcing him to rewrite the books.

I keep hearing this. What are the odds that it's true? Because the last season s-u-c-k-e-d.
>>213331970 (OP) >D&D started getting arrogant as early as season 3 and deviating more and more from the books >NPCs praised the slop despite the oncoming train wreck being obvious in season 5 >show goes into a death spiral and people only start to accept it when the final season completely sucked
people got the ending they deserved, bookfags were fully vindicated

The first 4 seasons are good and thereβs some memorable bits of dialogue. The last 4 seasons get progressively worse and detatched from reality, but Iβd still personally watch them for the sake of getting a full picture of the show.

D&D were hired to adapt. The writer stopped writing. D&D are suddenly stuck doing something they never planned to do, finish the work of another author.
I don't blame them at all. When they had material to adapt they killed it. Suddenly they are stuck getting blamed for not finishing a story that isn't their story.
>>213334352 >When they had material to adapt they killed it.
Retarded take considering they had Feast of Crows and Dance of Dragons and season 5 to 7 were garbage
>>213334352 >not finishing a story that isn't their story.
I mean it was their show and they are writers so I would expect them to put in some effort instead of just phoning it in the way they did in the last two seasons which ranged from mildly annoying to hilariously bad in terms of the writing.
fat fuck didn't and will never[/spoiler/] finish the books. dumb and dumber could half ass it with good material, as soon as they started running out of material they went full retard.
