yea its a movie trying to turn it into a joke so you dont think it was ever serious in any way. And then it leans into them phasing through walls to move the goalpost.

kinda interesting movie since they talk about stuff like psyops and how the military is doing these kinds of experiments.
the good/evil force of jeff bridges vs kevin spacey is interesting but simplified.

because a high ranking general in army intelligence bought into newage (rhymes with sewage) and believed it was actually possible to create psychic super soldiers who could remote view, kill with a thought, phase through walls, and subdue enemy combatants with the sparkling eyes technique, which came from 90s anime/manga
I was once watching two 12 year old boys in a Muay Thai fight. I thought they should love one another, and be having a good time. So I started making fart noises in my head, and they started laughing. Their coaches of course then yelled at them and they squared back up, and I made a big wet fart noise in my head, and they once again lost it. The ref eventually disqualified them.

You know you can read the cia documents on this stuff yourself right? The remote viewing stuff was real it just isnt as bugging a place with regular cameras and mics and its never totally precise and cant be totally weaponized so they 'officially' retired it. But plenty of reports you can read. Sure maybe a lot of new age hijinks happened but still.

In the same spirit - The Pentagon Wars.
A whole movie shitting on the creation of the Bradley.
And more than 25 years later, we learn that the Bradley is actually one of the best fighting vehicles ever created.
