I think the overwhelmingly positive reaction is due to IMDb being dogshit like the other guy says, but also because Trey & Matt aren't trying to say anything clever in the way they're mocking trump.
This isn't like Obama Wins or The China Probrem where they're trying to be comedic at the same time as they do biting social commentary, it's more like "Osama bin Laden Has Farty Pants" or the old Saddam episodes themselves (even aside from them just doing the Saddam voice, animation style, & sleeping in the same bed with Satan gags). It's not doing that tired old "try to be high-brow and fall short" thing they have been for the past few seasons, it's just pointing at an egotistical asshole who sues the hell out of anybody that talks bad about him and saying "this guy sucks, huh? what a screwball"

Not sure you understood that was the joke.

They were drawing comparison between Donald Trump and dictators of the sort America used to see as enemies or at least subjects of ridicule, like Sadam. To be truthful its quite an accurate representation in many ways, for example remember how when Sadam was over-thrown they were showing all his opulent but tacky palaces where everything was gold plated and there were paintings of him looking heroic and stuff, oh how we laughed.

yeah, that's the argument against trump, isn't it? he isn't part of the cultural elite, so he's bad. that's what's got people like sam harris spazzing out over it nonstop. makes me think of that scene from borat, where he makes fun of america for essentially having a monarchical hereditary leadership, and how it's obvious to everyone that this is clearly super fucked-up. but then the second someone who isn't part of the tiny minority who keeps inheriting the throne from each other, "everyone" (see: everyone who just thinks whatever the media controlled by this same cultural clique tells them to think) suddenly loses their minds.
