If I say I liked Sicario and Dunkirk, do I still get into suicide heaven?
I don't hate them, they've just worked on some dogshit screenplays is all. It's especially frustrating with Villenueve because I really enjoy Prisoners, Enemy, and the aforementioned. But he's on a decade streak of bloated science-fiction screenplays. It's a damn shame, but I don't want him to change. He is who he is, and he directed some great movies. I hope he enjoys what he's doing, even I think it's abhorrent nonsense.

After Dune Messiah he's doing that Bond flick, and knowing he won't get final cut due to the whole Amazon deal it's hard to say what that'll turn out like.

Bond will sink his reputation.

Already has. He has no control whatsoever on that movie. He doesn't get to pick the scriptwriter, the new Bond, anything. He'll just point the camera. After so many years of establishing himself as a supposed auteur, this is like shooting your career in the face.

Dennis makes movies in a very competent manner.
Nolan is a farthuffer who thinks he's an auteur making meaningful films.

Villeneuve's movies are unwawtchable

The Dark Knight is pretty good I guess

Dune, BR2049 and Sicario clears anything Nolan has done.
