The whole point of JP was that they never created dinosaurs, they created monsters that cater to people's expectations of what a dinosaur should look like
It's a literal plot point that scientific accuracy was not the goal, if anything InGen were happy to be scientifically innaccurate on purpose if it created a better product

>doesn't know that petrified dinosaur skin has been found, and........drum roll.........no feathers.

The official narrative of science is that the dinosaurs all died out with the Yucatan meteor, BUT they lived to evolve into modern animals in spite of dying out. For realsies. No shit. And within that tyime there's "intermediate stages" in between dinosaur and birds where feathers first appeared. So they go ahead and assume that T-Rexs and other dinosaurs looked like big chickens........in the name of science of course.

As far as im aware its mostly dromaeosauridae that were feathered (and that have actual fossilized evidence supporting that fact)

The raptors depicted in jp are called velociraptors in the movie, but are actually more like utahraptors

There is no direct fossil evidence that utahraptors had feathers, they dont even have the quill knobs on their bones that the smaller feathered dromaeosauridae do

However, the โ€œexpertsโ€ assure us they were feathered..because..well they just were okay?!?

Good. Show me a T-Rex and Velociraptor fossil with feathers. Don't assume that since "dinosaur A" had feathers, then that means that "dinosaur B" also had them. I brought my receipts with showing pics of petrified dinosaur skin with no feathers including T-Rex skin. I'll even throw in the fossilized remains of a whole dinosaur. Well if it would have been whole if Canadian coal minors didn't blow its ass off while looking for coal, eh. It noticably lacks feathers.

Now it's your turn.

Allright retard, I'll humour you.
Feathers themselves are only preserved in exceptional circumstances, so the principal evidence for feathers on dinosaurs is the little knobs on the bones where the quills attach - a feature observed in living bones. This example is a velociraptor forearm bone.
Now tell me its a fake like the contrarian fuckwit that you are, then fuck off.

If dinosasur turds survive (and are actually plentiful and are probably the most common paleolithic fossil), then so would traces of feathers. And they have with the right animals. And feathers didn't attach to bone. They're embedded in the skin.

I don't read book Hammond as "cartoonishly" evil. That would imply he's being an evil retard for the lols and Hammond isn't that at all. If anything, book Hammond is greedy and short sighted, sure; but he's also insanely desperate and under an immense amount of pressure from his investors. He's evil in the sense that he willingly puts people in horrific danger for his personal gain, but I would argue that isn't out of character for a capitalist CEO under intense pressure to turn a profit.

Chrichton has said in multiple interviews that Jurassic Park was more about the larger issues that plague the Corporate/Capitalist system and how it turns people into evil greedy retards. The dinosaurs were just kind of a fun and terrifying vehicle to explore that theme. IIRC I remember at least one interview where he expressed bewilderment at how popular the dinosaur aspects of the book had become while people completely missed the "Corporations make retarded decisions for profit" theme he was really trying to get across.

One of the best aspects of the novel is how Crichton made technical and science talk very interesting and understandable. You're actually learning and being entertained at the same time. Not sure if that would apply to female readers however. Another great aspect is the gore and violence. Maybe one day a new adaptation with all the gore, the outright meanness. That's a big wish.

In the books Wu doesn't want actual dinos, he wants to purposefully make them slow, retarded, and easy to control.

Hammond was the one pushing for "accurate" dinosaurs and Wu is trying to explain that they will never be real dinosaurs and it's pointless to make them "realistic" when normies and park guests won't know anything about real dinos anyways.

crocs live both on water and land. most dinos were land based and had tougher time for food when the meteor hit and the dust was kicked up. crocs had it easy, small animals and dinos wandering into marshes (out of their comfort zone/usual hunting places) during the shitshow after the meteor for decades

same reasoning for african-origin genetics when everything is plentiful around you; why evolve?

I don't know what's going on

But in the first book and movie they even said the dinosaurs were not accurate and were modified because they couldn't find all the DNA, modern viruses and fungus and bacteria would kill them off and the climate was different
It was the entire plot point
They had messed with the dinosaurs DNA so much and added and subtracted so much the dinosaurs could breed by switching sexes

It's the entire basic plot point
All of the dinosaurs that were meat eaters were more aggressive, made larger and were made to look how toys looked.

Literally in the first movie.

Of course they were never accurate. You didn't stumble across so plot hole.

>it would suffocate within minutes due to modern global oxygen levels being significantly lower than they were back then

This is brought up in the book multiple times. Several characters hear the dinos "coughing" or struggling to breathe and they comment on it. The dinos all have massively compromised immune systems because of it, AND there are tons of diseases that they have no immune response towards anyways so all the animals are constantly getting sick. IIRC a huge money sink for InGen in the book is having to constantly replace sick and dying animals because they can't cope with the modern environment (and also most of them shouldn't be in a fucking jungle to begin with). The reason book Hammond is so tunnel-vision focused on getting the park open at any cost is they need to start making money so they can afford to make new dinos that don't get sick as easily, and their existing stock is already showing signs of being sick. IIRC part of the triceratops issue wasn't just the toxic plants they were eating, but they were already suffering illness and can't fucking breathe as well.

>Just wait until you find out how mountains formed
I know exactly.

Job 12:7-10 KJV
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
