What Marvel doesn't get is that this, and all "get woke, go broke" happens on a delayed system. That's why some returns to non-woke still suffer, and why some really woke stuff makes money. The really woke stuff makes the money because people get worn down over time, not all at once, and the money is based off the existing good will. The flops are the same. I have no idea about Thunderbolts, but F4 is getting less woke, and attempts an unwoke aesthetic, but it's too late. The slop (Quantumania) and girlboss/diversity shit (Captain Marvel) have done their damage. No one trusts Marvel anymore to may anything but low effort, bad cgi, wokeslop. The brand itself is damaged and, much like Star Trek, Star Wars, and so forth, I'm not sure there's anything you can really do to fix it. Maybe put it all away for at least a decade and ensure the entire creative team is fully replaced from the top down.

The thing is these aren't David Lynch films or any other artistic work where the box office results mean next to nothing.
You can't have corporate announcement parties like Comic Con and show a timeline of these films to be released years before they have a director or even screenplay, and expect the public discourse to be any different. Its just so blatantly commercialized, by the numbers "this sets up the next phase for this" nonsense. The only reasonable thing to expect grown adults to banter about is the box office numbers considering the corporate action plan relies on turning a decent profit - especially with F4/Superman because these films are the cornerstone of the next 10 years of MCU/DC product.
