Nobody cares how you portray them. You'll either get people using british accents or people trying to sound like modern day greeks. Better to just let the actors do their thing to properly convey the emotions of the moment

The sad thing about modern Hollywood is that there's a limited pool of actors you can cast that are still relevant, and the gen-z or late millennial actors just don't cut it.

Besides this, what other versions of the Odyssey are worth watching? I'm yet to see The Return with Ralph Fiennes.

Also ancient Greek stories in general. I really like Satyricon, it feels like a fever dream, a bit too homo for my tastes, but genuinely great film.

I find it funny how everyone here pretends they have read or know anything about the Odyssey

I read the first chapter of the Odyssey, the most amazing thing i noticed was the morality of the greeks, they put great value on poetry, singing and bloodline but were brutal people who weren't afraid of war, very alien mindset to observe if you are raised in a christian society.
