We have to let it go. The time has passed.
We’re never getting a live action adaptation of Batman Beyond and we all need to accept that.

I wonder how they would design the suit. Would they keep the mouth or no?

>aging hero reluctantly passes down the role to a foolhardy young man who’s got a lot to learn
Was this show inspired by the 90s Zorro movie?

the entire capeshit industry is ripped off from zorro

I'm literally reading that Twitter thread about how the suit can't be adapted and it makes me want to punch everyone. Mixcgi and practical like deadpool. Jesus christ

I mean I love Batman beyond. But the show was legit created to rip off Spiderman even the villains were based off Spiderman villains including venom and kraven

Although this is great and wholesome news, i can't help but think that WB should have greenlit a BB during the Snyder era. I unironically think he would have made a decent Batman Beyond film, or at least better than MoS and JL. And no, im not a snyderjeet. I only like pre 2010s cape media.

I am scared about how old kino will look in 20 years. Then I remember AI remasters and I get even more scared.

Imo it should aim to be the futuristic/cyberpunk equivalent of X-men First Class. Let the setting breathe enough to give the film some personality, but don’t make it the film’s entire personality like in BR2049. I don’t know anyone who can do that now. Snyder only did it in spurts post-300.

we won't get BB live action because the sets would be a budget nightmare

they would have to make everything bespoke or greenscreen all of it

it is a compelling IP though. maybe we'll get a movie eventually

It’s actually The Scarlet Pimpernel

They'll make one eventually since they've done 100 versions of Bruce Wayne losing his parents and are running out of ideas.

Neo Gotham was literally inspired by Blade Runner. It's a standard cyberpunk setting.

The fact that Batman was a total rip-off of Zorro in 1939 aside, that 90s Zorro movie didn't invent the idea of an old hero passing down the torch. And Diego wasn't really reluctant to do it, in fact he was the one who approached Alejandro with the offer. Pretty different from BB where Bruce tells Terry to fuck off and Terry has to steal the suit at first.

Yes, but the Bladerunner films don’t make money. Batman barely makes money now , and the capeshit era is beginning to fade away.

WB is so cheap. Have you seen the animation in their DC animated movies? Absolute dogshit. I think spiderverse is overrated but those films blow WB out of the water.

don't care for live action, but it'd be great if the show had more seasons and more films like return of the joker

The logical conclusion is for him to be made into a black female. Which is what we almost got and it was so awful WB cancelled it as a tax writeoff after it was made.

And that’s a good thing. Beyond simply doesn’t work in live action. For starters the costume is simply far too stylized to do in live action without just making it entirely chi and then what’s even the point?

Not schway at all.

Quality post and apt comparisons! 100% agreed. If I had to choose a modern template for a BB film's setting, it would be either the 1st season of Altered Carbon, most recent Judge Dredd film, or... i forgot the 3rd :(

Dredd 2012 handled its setting very similarly to X-men First Class. First Class just replaced the wide "look at this filthy crack addicted futuristic slop" shots at the beginning with a cuban missile crisis circlejerk at the end.

Because we NEED Simu Liu as Terry, and a bald, black woman as Barbara Gordon/Batman.

There's too much electric guitar in this series too. It's basically a prime time normie drama or late afternoon soap opera masquerading as a cartoon.
