Nobody in the late 90s/00s knew how bad it was going to get.

Open office concept makes cubicle look like a luxury. Pensions meant you could retire regardless of how the stock market was doing/how much you could afford to contribute to a 401k. Job Stability meant not having to switch companies every 3-5 years.

Hate to tell this but switching jobs is nothing new. Talk to some old people, almost all of them have had like 20 different jobs through their lives.

Isn’t your generation the one that hates working so much that you won’t even go in and demand a living wage (allowance) from the government?

Pension were already dead and dying in the 80s and 90s. They grifted boomers and gen x with 401ks, which were originally designed to help rich people reduce their income to avoid taxes, not be your end all retirement fund.

Office work is soul crushing. I've been off work for a year and a half due to burnout.

>all jobs are fake bullshit
>entire industries like tech and marketing are complete bullshit, busy work that does nothing but siphon and pilfer from society with zero net gain
>almost everyone now works remote, does no work, and makes 6 figures, everyone's a rich homeowner while sitting in their pajamas on their couch pretending to work their fake bullshit do nothing spreadsheet, zoom meeting, email jobs
>the entire white collar is a bullshit scam
haha, yeah, work life is so hard now, it was so much better back then

no i just finished the shield and thought it was funny when they were touring him around the office and describing his job. He had to
>work from 9 to 5/6
>wear a shirt and tie
>sit in his private cubicle
>write 5 whole reports a week using info provided to him on a subject he already knew forwards and backwards
>given his reputation, reports probably aren't going to be relied on anyways, he just needs to jump through the hoop at bare minimum level
>collect $62k per year which is like $100k in modern biden bux
>pension and benefits intact
>meanwhile, non-verbal autistic kids and behavior challenged older kid he never spent time with anyways are gone. No child support as far as i can tell due to witness protection
>wife who nagged him and he cheated on anyways is gone. again, no alimony as far as i can tell
>any criminal liability for what he did is gone, and most of the people who'd want to kill him are dead or locked up for life no parole
>only had to do the ICE job for 3 years then he can do private security gigs again (he'd probably fuck this up and find himself in a hole again though)
yet, he looked like he had suffered a fate worse than death and was crying at his desk. There couldn't have been a better outcome for him, despite being the biggest piece of shit on the show

>the people who'd want to kill him are [...] locked up for life no parole

on police work his corrupt ass was responsible for. which means if he steps out of line, they get out. its a gun to his head.

Open Office is like living in hell
>constant distractions
>people sneaking up on you
>fellow employees watching you
>inane conversations
>listening to slurping and crunching
>boss in his own office chilling
>office 'humor'
