35mm film. The shows from the 50s and 60s look better than many shows from 70s and 80s which were either shot or edited on videotape. Ironically the twilight zone looks better on tv today than it did in 1960.
For me it was the episode with the astronauts that should have died in an explosion getting erased out od existence by "fate" and the subtle implication that it will go on until everyone that has ever come in contact with them will be erased as well, like the nurse in the final scene.
The Howling Man was Directed by Douglas Heyes who also did The After Hours and in OP's picture Eye of the Beholder.
Side note, in X-Men 2 Bryan Singer stated that he ripped off the Devil transformation from that episode and used it for X-men with Mystique changing while passing columns!!!FACT!!!
The episode about the pool legend saying might not seem like it's that impressive of a thing to be the best at. But regardless it's a very special feeling to be 'the Best'
