I think it can only possess one person at a time. But it knows people are after it after almost being thwarted by the detective at the beginning of the movie so it wanted to change hosts in a big crowd.

Naomi Scott did such a good job but the "it was just a dream" reveal really pissed me off. Probably not seeing the 3rd movie unless it comes highly recommended.

Pretty accurate. I always sort movie monsters into two categories: Imps and Full-Fledged Demons. Imps can fuck with you but there will always be a realtively easy way to thwart them. Full Demons are another matter. They're night unstoppable, and will likely always get what they're after no matter what, since all forces are already rigged in their favor.

Fully powered-up Art the Clown is another one. You can't escape him. If he fixes on you, you're fucked. Drive away from him at full speed and he will just show up in your back seat like a nightmare.

Smile demon is easily defeated by any non-selfish country.

Plenty of stoic countries where people are willing to bear the burden of ending a curse to prevent it from spreading to other people.
Most asian countries are like this, that's the only reason why when characters behave cowardly or selfishly in their stories is it so egregiously portrayed, because it violates the norm.
Parents are expected to sacrifice themselves for kids and vice versa.
