What an odd thing. They spent $1M of some paypig's crypto money to make this. Since its final episode was released, NOBODY has said a word about it. Alex Schultz will tweet out some lame thing about it every now and then. Nobody posts screenshots of it. There's like two snippets of the show on Youtube. It's had zero impact even though it's supposedly "better" according to Sam. They had the money. They had the creative freedom. What the fuck happened?

for one thing you have to use their website to watch it and sign up. i saw one clip on youtube, an addict construction worker, and it was funny in a few parts but not something that would make me seek the show out. it was kinda more of the same.

As a former fan of Sam Hyde, a huge amount of his schtick is being funny and having integrity.
This harland podcast showed that he doesn't have any integrity and he's not that funny. its not going to "cancel" him, its just revealing that he's a lolcow. A lolcow and being cancelled are two different things.
Sam can only "joke" if the joke makes him appear more masculine, which, once you realize this, makes him not all that funny, it makes him not have depth as a comedian.

I wasn't aware of World Peace until years after its cancellation but if I had to theorize, it's probably because at the time World Peace fit the zany, randumb humor that Adult Swim fans loved in stuff like Tim & Eric and ATHF, but was also counter-cultural which gave it an appealing edge.
Extreme Peace, for what I've seen, retains and amplifies that humor despite it being dated and no longer appealing and lacks the countercultural edge, coming off as more bitter at times.
I also think stuff like fucking with actors for ha ha funnies feels like a cheap attempt to recapture the lightning in the bottle of Moms, but it comes off as mean-spirited and like we're not necessarily in on the joke.
When I watch PGL clips or whatever, the stuff I enjoy is when Nick Rochefort starts riffing, especially with Charls. Sam rarely has anything funny to say and can get very sanctimonious. I think Extreme Peace maybe suffered from his touch.

I loved World Peace and Extreme Peace, watched both on torrents, I even watch the Omitted video from time to time to enjoy the music and graphics. I won't pay for Sam's stuff because most of it is unfunny ranting at a phone camera.

With Extreme Peace, I think most of it is good. But despite them being able to do whatever they wanted, we don't get any deep shit like Charls in jail.

Writing definitely was a massive step down, and also production quality. But above all else I think it's the directing. Losing Andrew Ruse was massive.

I went back and watched WP and some of the earlier stuff he directed like https://youtu.be/KWUWnT2sAso and things like the pacing and cuts and use of music etc just feels so so much better. It has a real flow, real comedy beats that just keep hitting you.

EP just seems like a massive drag with no jokes, no hooks and way way way too much of the same segment where they're just being mean to some guy who was stupid enough to take them seriously. It was disheartening to watch. I wonder how much of it is just downstream of the low production values and lack of access to studio level resources
