I am trying to get into anime and a friend recommended me this. It looks cool but what's with every single characters thought processes being narrated out loud? Is the author worried we can't get cues from what's going on the screen?

Hearing thoughts processes of characters is pretty usual in animes. It’s like Peep Show or a book in that sense. I don’t mind it. At least in Snk they don’t shout out their attacks. It’s a great show except for the 1/10 finale. Japanese authors don’t know how to make satisfying endings. There’s also very little romance in the show and the romance that does exist is utter shut.

i tried to watch Demon Slayer with my GF and i pretty much tapped out when a demon was decapitated and then the story halts to a stop as his head is falling to the ground, just so we can get a stupid backstory for the demon for like 8 damn minutes. Who the fuck likes this shite???

Then you'll be pleased to find out that Attack on Titan is centered around WW2 and white guilt with concentration camps. The race of the characters flip flops between jewish and nazi. Sometimes they are white and need to be killed, other times they are jews and therefore good and victims.
I think the writer just doesn't know the difference between whites and jews so it gets mixed up but it's consistently anti-white.

You know how some comic books have a lot of internal monologue going on during action and such? Manga has that too. When you see that shit in anime, it's because they are being faithful to manga source material. Obviously it doesn't translate seamlessly to an audiovisual medium but anime kinda-sorta makes it work.
