While the victim did not directly reference being cannibalized in his few known posts, it is likely the victim and the butcher agreed to carry out the cannibalism, potentially at the butcher's desire. The underlying motivations of vorarephilia aren't certain, but a study "suggested that it could be motivated by a desire to merge with a more powerful other or permanently escape loneliness", in addition to the more standard reasons behind sadomasochism.
