Standard 2.5 means it would need roughly 450 to break even. That's not happening for c liters anymore. The studio set itself up for failure. Studios have to be conscious of this shit. Everything has changed. The China maket has basically dried out on Hollywood movies outside of Jurassic Park. On top of that, Consumers don't want to spend 20 dollars a ticket on mediocre. They can stream mediocre on their 70+inch without paying concessions.
CFOs/CEOs need to learn to say no to a projects that are obviously not viable. Take a fucking tax write off on shit.

I don't think Pascal is a big draw either because he both repels and attracts people to theaters, but Vanessa Kirby has no fanbase and she's not pretty enough to get casuals unfamiliar with her into seats. If you are set on casting an Aryan looking white woman in her 30s, pay a little more to get Jlaw, Emma Stone, Margot Robbie, or even Dakota Johnson--they all would have brought more casuals into seats than Vanessa Kirby. Cap 4 made less money than Cap 1 when adjusted for inflation, and Cap 1 was not exactly a hit. It did ok, but just ok. Several films in a row have done mediocre numbers. The Incredibles started off the opposite. Bob is assuring his wife of their future stability, as any man would and should. The opposite primes Sue as the leader and I don't go for girlbosses. When Pedro Pascal first leans in to kiss Vanessa Kirby she reels back on instinct. She is not attracted to him. He is homosexual. There is no chemistry. Look at her face CLOSELY when she first hugs Johnny when he finds out they're pregnant. She responds positively and intimately to his masculinity. That isn't acting. She wants the handsome man showing off his fit body in the tight shirt with the bright smile out-acting every single man in the ring to touch her and shower her with praise and attention. Pedro just sleepwalks through this role and ZERO men in the audience but people being paid to would ever want to emulate or BE that Reed Richards. All of his plans fail. His wife saves the day while he's standing there holding a baby like a loser. He gets no cool moments. His stretchy powers look are as anemic as Pedro's performance and that's sad because it's the CLEAREST indicator of masculinity. I mean, come on, the penis symbolism is right there. Having Reed be worthless in applying would be tragic if I cared enough.

Ben Grimm doesn't have character. He's someone's lame aunt. He isn't an actual guy I'd want to hang out with. He's milquetoast. Aside of making some kids smile for a little bit he has no charisma and I actively hate him. He's basically Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. This is the exact same archetype. They don't understand that guys who thought they were ugly or were fat could immerse themselves into a guy like Ben who has a heart of gold and puts his family first. Who is loud and has the personality to make up for where Reed and the other's lack at. He wisecracks, he banters with Johnny. Like actual banter. Pull up a comedy podcast or something for reference to see how friends talk to one another. It isn't whatever the anemic mess that passes for banter between Ben and Johnny was.

Because Fantastic 4 is a fucking ass franchise that nobody outside USA even remembers and all the movies sucked so far. Nobody needs this fucking shit.
