Those trees aren't that dense, so yeah, it's a real log. It looks dehydrated too.

If it was dry, then it's light. A lot of people don't know this. Freshly cut trees hold a lot more water. Once they dry out, they're actually no that heavy and a big guy like Arnold, that probably wasn't that heavy.

A 2x4x8 weighs less than 10 lbs, that log is basically less than 15 studs. 150 lbs shouldn’t be a problem for a weight lifter to carry on his shoulder. The toughest part would be the tree bark not tearing up your skin.

He could probably handle a real log like that with ease, but you aren't going to pay Arnie to move the log around set, they're gonna get some PAs that likely aren't as fit or capable as a world class bodybuilder. The log has to be transported to and moved around set between takes and that's not what you hire your lead actor to do. And the set/prop designers will want a log that looks good on film, so it's easier to just make a fake one they can easily move around and rework/ scrap if needed than dealing with a real one.
And insurance isn't going to risk your star having shoulder issues doing multiple takes holding what could just as easily be a fake log.
