Rowling said she intentionally made the rules stupid because she had gotten in a fight with her then-boyfriend. Since men enjoy sports with sensible rules, this was the perfect way to get back at him.

The 150 points thing is the only problem with the rules. Make it 50 and it's perfect.

This, the Snitch is worth an obscene amount of points considering it's the only thing that actually finishes the game. The game would have to a one-sided trounce for the team that didn't catch it to win
