Its the 1000 year period before the movies start. They had a bunch of books, comics, I think a cartoon and that Acolyte show that were set in that era. Basically they did the same thing that Star Trek did with Discovery and pushed the focus to a different era so they could make up their own bullshit without tainting the canon of the movies that people actually like. And so they didn't push it so far back to taint and step on the toes of already existing Old Republic stuff already made and to be made in the future. Just a woke little bubble of shit wedged right there in the middle where they experiment with how far they could test the hardcore Star Wars audience and seem how much bullshit they would put up with. The only high republic content I willingly consumed was whatever they shoehorned into the second respawn game but I don't remember any of it besides the main villain being mad about something that happened to him a thousand years ago or something. Not just soft-rebooting the old republic was an incredibly retarded decision full of hubris
