That's the entire point of Jor-El's characterization behind Superman. He's one of the few Kryptonians that had to train his Kryptonian superiority out of his system ever since he figured out how apocalyptic their culture and practices has become. He would never ask for Krypton 2.0, he would as his son to help Earthfags not make the same mistake as Krypton did.

Jor-El's characterization has become more morally grey in the last 20 years of comics, he is one of the few Kryptonians self aware enough to be critical of his own species and not be outright for human genocide but he's still far from perfect and sees his son as superior to humanity and believes his son should be the one to guide humanity

This was my favorite characterization of Superman because it was relatable. He’s not some super genius or strategic thinker. He’s a regular ass dude. The scene with his technologically illiterate mom yelling into the cell phone was incredibly relatable.

That's always been a rational way of seeing it because Kal would just grow up being an ultra Ubermensch compared to anybody in that solar system. It is legitimately OOC for him to advise Clark to lord and conquer over Earth like every other Kryptonian has for thousands of years.

This is my one major disagreement with the movie.
Krypton in the first few minutes of Man of Steel was built up as a rich enough setting that they easily could have set a whole prequel movie there
... of course the DCEU didn't do that, and maybe the DCU still could but it's probably harder now that it's established that the Kryptonians are bad (unless you're OP), imperialist/supremacist conquerors
