Joe is basically a billionaire at this point. He’s projected to be one in ~10 years. He has a 65 million dollar yacht. A palace on a lake with 100 acres. Homes all around America. A warehouse full of sports cars. A private jet. A security team who follows him and his family around the clock everywhere they go. Hes become someone so unrelated from the average person. He’s so detached from reality, even if he thinks he isn’t. Even if he thinks he still has a hold on what the average person thinks and feels, he doesn’t. His entire posse of comedian friends all kiss his fucking ass. Nobody is honest to his face.

It’s ironic that the thing he wants to be known for the most in this world is being a comedian, and out of all the things he does standup is by far his weakest link. I think he’s aware of it too. I got the sense he knew his new standup special sucked when he was forced to promote it by Netflix, he seemed so insecure when he said “Netflix is making me plug this”. I think he knows he’s not funny but he’s clinging onto it because he’s spent his entire life basing his identity around being a comedian.

Joe Rogan's main source of inspiration in the comedy world is Sam Kinison. His entire act is a cheap knock off. The trouble is that Kinison had huge amounts of charisma, and seemed very very likable, so the whole shouting thing worked. Joe just comes across like a high school jock so his act seems very obnoxious. Not to mention none of the jokes he writes are funny at all
