Steroids weren't introduced until 1970's
The movie is situated in 1930's

If they had cast Arnold as Indy in the 80's he'd look so odd

I miss when fit guys in movies weren't all enormous or shredded the way they are now. Regular people just don't get in shape the same way a Hollywood actor with 3 personal trainers and a round of steroids does.

I'm so sick of seeing this parroted. Movies and television aren't setting new standards for the minimum women find attractive. Their attraction is based on what they see outside. If you aren't obese or overweight you are automatically in the top 20% of all men. If you regularly work out 3 times a week you are in the top 10%. That's literally all it takes. And if you can't find an hour 3 days a week then you don't deserve pussy in the first place. Being with a woman takes a lot more time, money and effort than that. You aren't getting laid because some asshole on screen took gear. That's pure cope. Stop repeating it.

would take months (3-6) to notice at all (assuming lean), and then years beyond that to look noticeably good assuming good genetics

I didn’t say I wasn’t getting results. I’m just saying that you are way too optimistic about training results for normies starting from 0
I eat 200g protein daily at 250lbs
the real issue is that I’m a (tall) fat fuck
taller you are the harder it is to appear noticeably strong since your frame requires more muscle to fill, and being fat means women dgaf
and I didn’t say I WASNT strong, my current working weight bench is 255x11 reps, and despite being a bloat lord I can actually do several pull-ups (just 5 lmao)
>>213405363
>compliment from family members who were probably told by your mom you workout
I don’t really count those, I only really count mires from strangers
also 3 months is literally too early to put on mass (starting from nothing)
in that time period it’s mostly just your nerves making new connections with what you have

legitimately
either you already had muscle to begin with and thus had already passed the nerve building stage
were particularly water saturated and thus looked fuller that day (or were dehydrated/leaner and thus had more muscle definition)
or your aunt was just saying that as a compliment (I got those too before I started working out, one even from a non family member, I think they were just being nice though)
OR you are legitimately a genetic phenom (least likely option, but possible)
you deserved the compliment regardless since working out always sucks, but biologically 99% of the population (including young men) literally are incapable of putting on significant enough mass as a natty to be noticed by an unguided viewer in < 4 months

assuming you aren’t lying, im jealous anon
but regardless, 99.9999% of men starting from 0 are literally biologically incapable of that and its disingenuous to imply that that is an expected outcome
I say this as a guy routinely in the top 10 strongest within my big box gym

I’m not pretending I’m not a fucking loser
initially that is why I started working out
then I continued working out for the health benefits
a bad back runs in my family, so strength training is the only thing between me and constant back pain (I walked around like an old man as a teenager)
also, the endorphins from working out used to silence my suicidal/depressed thoughts. It doesn’t do that anymore and hasn’t since the end of year 3, but now it’s a habit and I have nothing better to do coupled with the aforementioned health benefits
that and it’s nice actually being strong, it’s amazing how much more comfortable life is when every physical action is easier. I helped a friend move the other month and he was huffing and puffing the entire time, sweating like a pig and holding his back as we finished. Meanwhile I wasn’t even breathing heavy

Are you ugly? I got laid all the time as a 6"4 guy with a swimmers build in my 20's and because I broke my elbow as a kid my bench has always been fucked. I've never benched over 200 as a max even after working out consistently for a year. But I had nice arms and pecs for the ladies. Being huge and fat is not an gonna disqualify you from all chicks but it's gonna force more work on you from an approach standpoint I think

I wouldn’t be the best judge of that
but my guess is yes, I’ve accidentally scared women with my mere presence on more than one occasion. I don’t even wear weird clothes or have strange tattoos, and I’m not black or something. I wasn’t even trying to talk to them, or even looked at them. But one time a mom flinched seeing me and literally pic related. I just wanted to look at the posters in the store and got in line behind her to do so like the other people in line. Probably didn’t help that I was a solo man.
one friend described my smile “as if I just saw a kid trip and fall on his face”
and when I told another friend that I accidentally scared women with just my presence he simply just agreed and told me it was likely because I’m big

Back in the day the proles and fatties were kept out of sight, not displayed in public.

The only thing that changed is the concept of shame. Back then people had a sense of it and would stay out of view if grotesque one way or another. These days there is no such thing as shame so everyone is just out in the open.

Gotcha well getting laid isn't the be all end all. I think we all initially start working out for chicks but then continue for the benefits you mentioned. And better to at least be strong. Also I don't know where you are at with that or even if you care but trying to get laid all the time is not attractive and women can sense it ...if you let it go and actually pursue your own hobbies that interest you, it actually retroactively attracts women. This does not mean guys can say fuck it and let them selves go playing video games in a basement....but you know what I mean

I don’t really try to
God I wish it was because of something creepy I said, but no these things happened when I wasn’t even trying to approach them or talk to them, or even saw them as a romantic option (I didn’t know them at all)
I don’t actually try to pick up women anywhere, all my friends have varying reasons that make it to where they can’t go out, and I know being a solo male in a bar or something isn’t going to improve my chances
Anyways, I try not to think about it nowadays
