MoS will be remembered for years to come and people can quote scenes by heart at this point while no one remembers anything from this new flick.

Making memes out of the occasional silly line is not quoting scenes by heart

>MOS is released at the peak of capeshit, with Asia fully on board, and it doesn't even reach 700M WW
>Superman is released after a series of DC flops, with superhero fatigue affecting most capeshit movies, and it still made more than MOS domestically in 3 weeks, and it's final number will be closer to MOS, despite all the later advantages.
If anything, this make MOS looks bad.

Nope, that's not what it is. It's people remembering entire scenes by heart and having fiery, endless debates over them for 13 years.

MoS came out in 2013, one year after Avengers, when superhero movies were at their most popular ever. It should have made close to a billion if it had actually been good.

Can be turned on MoS, i.e. if the tickets were as expensive then as now and with a mixed critical/audience reception it's very conceivable far less people would have seen it.

yea no, it's a flop. Warner is VERY angry at gunn 'the scum' hence why it's going to streaming earlier than intended. Like if they could legally give gunn 'the scum' the Caesar treatment then they would for his generational failure of a movie

Was 'I WILL FIND HIM!!' ever a meme? I'm surprised 'RELEASE THE WORLD ENGINE' wasn't more of a meme. The evil score for Zod and his goons is quite good but simply having that music blasted so loud after Shannon delivers that specific line with his weird cadence is really funny to me, and the 2010's era quick zoom ins

Does Zod ever having definative story arc in the comics? I kind of think MoS's plot has the seeds for a definative Zod villain story - not necessarily movie form, could be comic, animated, whatever. But the general idea with certain tweaks i.e. he turns up with actual good will towards Clark, he even helps out superheroing for a bit, and is ready to settle into Earth until he realises the Fortress has the necessary tech to grow kryptonian fetuses and terraform, then it's like a switch is flipped and he 180s, puts Clark in Phantom Zone, Clark has to get out, big triumphant moment in 3rd act something like a reaction of the hand crush scene in Superman II where he fakes Zod out in pledging fealty (Kryptonian equivalent of salute to a general) and says some shit like "My name is Clark" before punching him after repeatedly being called 'Kal' by Zod the whole time, Zod does fuck shit up but it's not as horrifying as what you see in MoS (don't blow your load to early on visceral death and destruction, save some for Brainiac/Darkseid)
