Pretty much. There were some fleeting glimpses of potential, but the forced teen romance drama and reluctance to get dark ensured it was never reached.

The first season was doodoo

I stilll think the core concept wasn't terrible (teenage wednesday goes to school, has to deal with teenager shit while trying to solve a murder mystery; ending with the twist being that her bf turns out to be the killer/monster), but the execution of that concept was ass and they didn't do a whole lot with the addams family in general, shit was just boring all around

Also as an aside the 90s addams family movie actors absolutely mogged the new ones except for based thing.
Ortega wasn't terrible but 90s ricci wednesday still absolutely mogged her, and desu milf ricci playing the mastermind wasn't bad either

I would say anyone could enjoy but it’s definitely PG-13 only. It’s somewhat amusing though. Hopefully more Thing jokes and Uncle Fester. I noticed Season 2 also has Steve Buscemi playing himself - not sure if he was in season 1.
