Here is some trivia: the first Superman was Lex Luthor. Before Superman was even conceived as a super powered guy dressed in blue, there was this story based on Nietzsche's Ubermensch about a bald guy who became a ruthless dictator because he was the smartest and most effective at everything he did. The story is just a written page with a drawing of a bald guy. Later they scraped that, created the iconic Superman as we know him and made the other guy into Lex Luthor. Luthor is Superman, he is the best of us all.
