The Walking Dead actress Kelley Mack has died at the age of 33.

Mack (real name: Kelley Lynne Klebenow) passed away on August 2 following a battle with cancer, her family announced on Instagram on Tuesday.

Mack had been stricken with glioma of the central nervous system, according to a statement her family shared on CaringBridge.
The rising star's most prominent role during her lifetime was as Addy on The Walking Dead's ninth season, which aired from 2018 to 2019.

Yes and it's honestly depressing witnessing the fall from grace the show had. Seasons 1-6 were so fucking kino. Season 7 episode 1 was also kino, one of the best eps in the series. But then it gets really dumb and really cheap. Seasons 7 and 8 have some good ideas but overall was a mess. Season 9 was actually pretty good but definitely not as good as 1-6. Season 10 and 11 are okay at best but ridiculously forgettable with a handful of terrible episode (but also has some great standalone episodes). If they kept the streak they had during 1-6, I genuinely believe TWD would've been remembered as one of the best shows of all time but instead everyone knows it as the cow that got milked until it dehydrated.

And to answer the who? question, she was one of the people who got kidnapped by the whisperers and their decapitated heads were put on spikes

She peaked as a literal who almost background character of SEASON 9 of The Walking Dead, a show which itself peaked at like Season 5 or whenever Negan first showed up, I think. And she was 33 when she died, fast approaching the wall. I do not think I would consider her "prime of their life"

I don't think it's really possible for any show to go beyond, like, 6 seasons without becoming stale, Flanderizing, or jumping the shark. Even something massively huge in society and pop culture like Friends, which has 10 seasons, is much more fondly remembered for the earlier seasons when everything was fresh. There really are only so many stories you can tell when there isn't a clear, fleshed out plot in a piece of media. TWD teased a plot in S1 and then never became more than "we have to find a new home... okay we pretty much ruined this one or realized it's run by cannibals / assholes / zombie whisperers, let's go find another one."
