Pulp Fiction was good, I can appreciate it, but I still didn't really like it. Pretty much everytime I've watched a Tarantino film, I've just felt absolutely nothing while watching it - I'm always watching them with friends too because they put them on and I can see how much they love them but I literally just don't get them, I don't even know how to describe it really.

im more bothered by them because the energy is so much better spent just investing and finding little hidden gems or whatever. theres thousands of new movies coming out now because its cheap, and basically you just have threads about new shit and people complaining about it.
we need sifters to actually find the gold buried in all this shit. i actually had an idea years ago for this exact problem, some kind of group functionality where we can all cooperate on sifting through hundreds of films together and then sharing what was actually well done.
like a social network revolving around curated ratings by just the group you're a part of.

it would create an echo chamber of sorts, but for something like media tastes, which is completely personal and subjective, thats what you'd want. personal recommendations from trusted peers.

even the reviewers became the delivery of kosher opinions. you could see that would become the way it was when IMDB removed their community forums where you could visit for any movie you watched and find pages of threads of people discussing the lore of it. it was amazing, but it let people be free to express their own opinions and that went against korporate kosher.
