>Director Danny Boyle took the blame for the misunderstanding: "I showed my girlfriend the trailer and she said, 'People will think that's Cillian.' I said, 'Don't be silly.' I ignored her. So I've eaten a bit of humble pie since."
>>213430944
He was just playing the innocent fool. He’s fucking lying. That zombie was on magazine covers and all the promotional shit. He knew full well what people would think.
>>213430972 >>213430900 (OP) >shows up for 2 seconds then gets killed >is a prominent figure in marketing next to the main actors and is the face of the movie
why? its Cillian baiting. simple as.
>>213430972
i just can't see cillian in that.
you have to go in with mindset that "I MUST SEE SOME ACTOR FROM THE OLD MOVIE IN THIS IMAGE" to see that.
but it could also whatever it's called. internet group hallucination. where if enough people tell you to see something, you start to see it.
but nigga in the end you're just fucking faceblind. no matter the reason why
>>213431189
I noticed that too. That scene where he's rising like a zombie out of the field appears only in the trailers, unless the theatrical cut is different.
>>213431189
Yeah they clearly filmed different shit for the marketing to cillianbait. There was absolutely no reason for him to even be in the trailer or anything promo wise going off his actual screentime
the anon itt adamantly arguing that it could not possibly be mistaken for cillian is just flat out retarded since it literally had millions of people who watched the trailer mistaking it for cillian.
>>213431467
its not a cliff hanger lol. theyre in complete safety and comfort its assumed. they are comfortable enough to spend all day outside making little signs for the planes.
>>213431496
For real. They're baiting or just actually retarded. Like millions of people. Even his fucking wife, who anon is apparently less smarter than.
>>213432142
But that’s exactly what Boyle is saying. He admitted how retarded he was for not noticing the similarities and unintentionally baiting everyone.
>>213432119
Is as definite an ending as you are going to get for a story like that. A cliffhanger implies that there is something to resolve which will be continued. Nothing in the movie needs to be resolved. He either dies or survives but there’s no more story left to tell for that character. Sure they are going to use him again but that only happened years after the facts.
>>213432587
Yeah but that the only thing left unanswered. You or the other anon were saying that the movie ends in a cliffhanger when it does not. The movie has a definite ending: the bad guys die and cilian and the other girl reach a point of relative safety where they can wait to either die or get rescued. The narrative is complete and anything happening after would be another entirely new story.
>>213432587
then every movie is left on a cliffhanger because >theres still XYZ they could do
you are grasping at straws, the better argument is the trailer fuckery that some anons are talking about. didnt watch that.
>>213431467 >faggot???
Back in them days I used to fuck boys like you in 'Nam and no one ever called me a faggot
Your dumbass is the only faggot around here you don't understand basic story telling and movie endings
I won't waist my time on a illiterate peckerwood like your self so fuck you and yours
>>213430900 (OP) >>213430972 >>213430998
The actor playing that zombie revealed himself like 24 hours after the trailer came out, they truly didn't expect you to be retarded.
>>213430900 (OP)
this whole movie was a fever dream.
they didnt even lean into the "low tech culture meets modern culture" thing nearly enough with the danish dude.
>>213434401
i wanted to see some dogs utilized. that would be perfect, they are so agile and love to run/hunt. a zombie faggot could never catch a german sherp
two guys in watch towers "kiting" the zombie mobs with dogs running back and forth. train the dog to walk across agile objects like a log so it can lure them right into spike pitfalls.
so much survival kino potential.
>>213434741
oh youre referring to the soldier, yeah well that's explained well enough in the lore, and they wanted him to be useless and ineffective which makes sense. it wasn't going for a gun operator movie, which makes it a lot easier to survive if you have a vest full of magazines. 28 weeks later is great for that though.
>>213434902
if you mean the low-techies, then yes, it's a missed opportunity.
you'd think that in the span of 28 years, the survivors have actual plans for reducing infected population like setting up traps.
instead, they're just using bows and arrows on slow crawlers and hoping the runners don't show up.
>>213435027 >you'd think that in the span of 28 years, the survivors have actual plans for reducing infected population like setting up traps.
Let's be fucking honest here: these things would have been dead literally 28 years ago just like in the first movie because they starve and die to the damn elements. These loser directors want to pretend they're immortal everlasting zombies while at the same time being living humans still. They made up whatever garbage justification to have a couple idiots wander about the forest with scary cannibals running after them. Putting any thought into why they didn't do this or that in the past is a waste since it is obvious from the first and second movie that the zombies would never last past a month no matter what.
>>213430900 (OP)
Did anyone else find him distractingly more detailed than the other zombies? Pretty much everyone else was just normal people but he looked straight from the walking dead
>>213436645
Well they can die of hunger and shit right? My guess is this one wasn’t really eating, so got emaciated. At one point there’s a scene of the other fast and more fit ones trying to find food, I assume fish, in a stream.
I’m just confused at how those crawling ones got so fat.
I saw this pic circulating around and just assumed it was Cillian. Didn't think anything of it when I was watching the movie, but the moment I saw the 10 second scene with this guy I realized my mistake. But it seemed pretty deliberate to generate some buzz.
>>213436828 >I’m just confused at how those crawling ones got so fat.
I sort of assume they were bloated with gases like a corpse, especially since they seem so decayed. Which doesn't really make sense, but it's that kind of movie.

when something is good, minor flaws and inconsistencies are forgiven and glossed over.
when something is bad, said flaws amplify the awful taste.
