He's already had his biopic. Apparently, Game of Thrones was also inspired by his torture. But, in any case, a new biopic about György Dózsa wouldn't be a bad idea.

Could have been caused by ergot poisoning.

This theory does not seem tenable, since it is unlikely that those poisoned by ergot could have danced for days at a time. Nor would so many people have reacted to its psychotropic chemicals in the same way. This theory also fails to explain why almost every outbreak occurred somewhere along the Rhine and Moselle rivers, areas linked by water but with quite different climates and crops

Is this the one that has video footage that I've seen at a bunch of mandated fire safety meetings at my various wage slave jobs? Really wouldn't carry a film unless something is happening with that as the backdrop

That black guy who kept a bunch of women and children as sex slaves on Clipperton for a long time (1 year+) after the Mexican army stopped re-supplying the island. Eventually, unrelated Americans came just as the women had finally killed him.

I read about it in a book and since it's since a minor footnote in history, all Wikipedia has to say about it is:

"By 1917, all but one of the male inhabitants had died. Many had perished from scurvy,[172] while others, including Arnaud, died during an attempt to sail after a passing ship to fetch help.[173] Lighthouse keeper Victoriano Álvarez was the last man on the island, together with 15 women and children.[174] Álvarez proclaimed himself 'king', and began a campaign of rape and murder, before being killed by Tirza Rendón, who was his favourite victim. Almost immediately after Álvarez's death, four women and seven children, the last survivors, were picked up by the U.S. Navy gunship Yorktown on 18 July 1917.[168][175]"

To give you an idea, Clipperton Island is a tiny, worthless island about a thousand miles south of Mexico. Its only slight claim to fame was guano mining, but that was quickly exhausted and it wasn't even good quality guano. The atoll, which is dominated by a huge brackish lagoon, is absolutely inundated with sea birds, who shit everywhere and are constantly making noise. But worse, there's the Clipperton Crab that literally eats everything. Food, wood, leather, etc. And they absolutely swarm the island.

Now imagine the Hell of being stuck on a tiny island, with rough weather, with hellish crabs and birds, and then the lowly lighthouse keeper goes apeshit and starts raping everybody.

It's a medieval manifestation of mental illness and psychosis. A schizo decided to commit suicide by dancing and it attracted other schizos, especially because that area was extremely impoverished at the time so plenty of people struggling. Also I've read that sometimes musicians joined in because they thought that would help these people "get it out of their systems" so to speak, but actually had the opposite effect and drew in more. Some unstable people probably joined in with the music as a joke, but could have easily fallen to mob mentality and quickly lost their minds. Really doesn't take long, especially when you have nothing to lose
