Don't worry, it's probably the worst scene in the original 3 movies. He's realizing he made a bunch of mistakes to get him to this point and now he's fully fucked. But the shots of him walking around the exploding boat are such stupid CGI slop

The movie was trying to say he was completely blindsided by the betrayal and was numb/in shock but what was stupid was he was in a 110 gun Rate 1 man o war. Flanked by 2 20 gun frigates. Plus he had 1000 ships backing him up.

He was in a very good naval position but the movie acts like the balence of power irrovocably shifted against him.

Under different circumstances the scene would be kino but the narrative just doesnt back it up.

The real East India trading company got so big that it essentially established itself as the government of the oceans for which all land governments must deal with. They even issued their own money. They really were pricks hated not only by pirates, but pretty much everyone.

I saw the movie at the theater. It was a good "eye-candy shot." Though I admit that it doesn't look as cool on TV.

Dumb move to make so much of the film about rallying the pirates and just have the battle be a clash between three ships in a whirlpool anyway.

That's the only part from the trilogy that truly bugs me.

Nah he is condescending that someone made a better deal than him. They took control of the Dutchmen, that’s the entire point of the series. He who controls the Dutchman controls the seas. It’s a ghost vessel incapable of being sunk, and has unlimited ghost ammunition. The Dutchman could single handled sink the entire fleet, it would just take some time. He got put in checkmate by someone playing the same game as him.

You can't argue with autists. Beckett's plan failing and him being unable to process and comprehend what to do next, since this is the first time he has gotten outplayed so utterly that he can't even make an order because he ultimately knows he is not surviving this, does not go into the account with these people. I swear, I've seen this comment about how Beckett's Man-o-War totally would btfo the undead ship by canon count at least a dozen times under the scene on YouTube.

You can't btfo The Dutchman. It's literally a magic ship that is composed of its crew magic undead sea bodies. Your armies of wood based ships won't win against a ship capable of submerging, infinite ammo, and can call krakens.

Its also stupid that becket has 1000 ships when the entire british navy at its peak had like 600 ships max.

Also if you did have 1000 ships. Why send them all to one battle with 7 pirates and a ghost ship. You would want to spread out across all the ports of the 7 seas to cover all your shipping routes.

The british could build ships faster than the flying dutchman could destroy them. There is no point risking your man o war to engage it.

Also why he fuck did commodore uhrm "admiral" norrington agree to a commission on a haunted ghost ship. He won PotC 2. He could set terms. Norrington should be the one on the man o war. Why agree to be stationed on a haunted ghost ship. Also why tf put the heart of davy jones on the fucking ghost ship.

Davy jones cant walk on land. Put his heart in the middle of fucking Khartoum in the bloody desert. The entire british plan defies all logic the movie itself sets up

How does that excuse sailing between two ships and receiving a broadside from both sides at 20 yards? That's just poor seamanship.

Realistically the cannon crews would have commenced firing on their own initiative upon being attacked point blank by pirates.
