Give it the prime CW budget from when shows like The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl were at their peak. Aim it at young adults while keeping it accessible for both kids and older viewers. Use 'Forever Red' as a reference point for the action, drop the Sentai footage to allow for more creative freedom, make it serialized, and stick to 22 episodes per season.

This approach would also work perfectly for Kamen Rider if they release it again in the States, also ... post those pictures of the yellow turbo/space ranger.

To many fan concepts, comics, and even that stupid movie tried to make the power rangers more mature. They were all dark and serious, with maybe a quip every now and again. It was brutal.

The best way to make power rangers cool again is unironically take from Sentai. Just embrace the fun of it, but then occasionally have a serious moment. Just enjoy the tonal whiplash you're allowed in a super hero tv show. Make it bright and colorful. Have them fight a giant pizza monster and drive crazy robotic cars that turn into a huge mech. Let them pose at every possible opportunity. Add explosions and colors and fireworks behind them whenever possible. Just enjoy the fun parts, add some minor dark areas to give it some depth, and roll with it. Sentai's (especially Kamen Rider) have had the formula down for decades.

? Sentai literally resets it's story every year. It's THE children's show that actually ends. Sure, it's rebooted a few weeks later, but there is a yearly jumping off point where people bail and skip the next season. Hell, most Zoomers/Millennials grew up on the post Lost Galaxy yearly reboot stuff, and are totally fine with having grown out of it outside of some nostalgia for specific seasons.

Agreed. Part of the reason Power Rangers became what it was, was specifically because it wasn't like anything else on TV. The low budget and lack of oversight led to the exact SOVL that fans enjoy. You're right, the current approach to the series in the west will never be profitable. We must return to the days of Ninjor

What would you consider InSpace/Lost Galaxy/Lightspeed Rescue/Time Force's tone? Because that's what I'd want. There's occasionally some goofy monsters but otherwise played fairly straight, some dark themes bit no excessive. It's for kids but it doesn't feel overly quippy or anything.
I'm not super fond of the tone of the Disney seasons tones.

I'd argue SPD is closest to what you're looking for, ironically. There's definitely some dark themes where the Rangers don't always win, and the enemy is getting ever closer to Earth. But with plenty of lighthearted moments.
