I finally got around to watching this for the first time and I loved it. Great story, action, world building, comedy, and fun special effects.

Now I want more. Are the sequels worth watching? What about the 2014 reboot?

Watch both sequels and the reboot. The second movie isn't bad. The third is hilarious. The reboot is more dreary and somber. But if you liked the first you might as well get the full experience

I liked it. It's not doing anything ground breaking, it just lets you be RoboCop. All in all, a fun, well made shooter and at its best, it really captures the tone of the first movie well.

The second movie is ass. I want the real Robocop 2: Corporate Wars. It was written by Robocop’s creator and would have had Robocop blown to pieces at the the beginning of the movie and put back to together in the far off future. It was going to be very Blade Runner like which is what inspired Robocop. Verhoeven was gong to direct it. But Orion ditched it because they wanted to keep the familiar shit and just recycled the first movie which is why Verhoeven walked

The recent game (Rogue City) takes place after 2 and is effectively like a movie in itself, tying up 2 and 3.
Robocop (reboot) is effectively a completely different thing, it feels completely aesthetically different.

2 is a real mess, a soulless, heartless, mean-spirited flick which mistakes the first movie's satire for raw cynicism. It has one or two good scenes though.

3 is underrated. People trash it because it tones down the violence in an obvious bid to sell toys and comics, but the satire, gags, and commentary on ruthless corporate culture is more in line with the first film.

The remake is shit apart from the unintentionally hilarious HOLY CRAP THERE'S NOTHING LEFT scene.

Robo 3, tv series and the reboot are not horrible, but they are unnecesary and not worth your time. Watch some memes and recaps in youtube if you are curious.
Robocop 2 is not on par with the original but it's 100% worth watching. It's funnier and gorier than the first one, has everyone who survived the first one and keeps up the worldbuilding.

Also, listen to the ost of the c64 videogame. Robocop 2 & 3 for the NES is awesome too.
