well duh, its a religion started by an arab merchant based on early versions of judaism and christianity which are way more retarded. the caliphs realized that after so many people started asking questions about the religion just like when Rome adopted christianity as the official religion they had to write manuals for their priests on how to gaslight and brainwash people into not asking questions, and these hadiths were means to make it all make sense so they decided on shit like occupying people with 5 prayers a day so they would be too busy to be asking questions

how the religion started is pretty interesting to not talk about. at that time arabia had thousands of jews and christians who were expelled by byzantines for being heratics so they started a new religion by supporting this guy. if you look up Muhammads story you'd find that there were many of his companions who were jews and christian fanatics who came to arabia because they all believed a messiah will come to defeat the byzantine empire and take them back to Jerusalem and build them the third temple. When they met Muhammad they saw he was good with words and really believed what he was talking about so they took a chance with him and most of them converted to his religion of course and adopted arabic names, the most famous example is the persian christian, salman al farsi, who traveled all over because he was part of a christian cult which believed in the coming of an arab messiah
