Once you get in a relationship with a woman, you'll realize it's not just a meme. They actually do that and expect you to do the same. I guess you could argue they picked up the idea from bad television but regardless it's still a very real phenomenon you can observe in the real world.

It's extremely rare I've met a woman who actually tells me how she feels genuinely. I have a few times and it's been wonderful though.
