It's confusion of all kinds of concepts. First of all the whole concept of IQ is a joke, it's not real, it doesn't make sense. But if treat IQ as a shorthand for intelligence, then the picture becomes different, because people who are intelligent tend to be successful in many areas with much less effort - and then they tend to have kids. I feel like it's people who tryhard in their careers, overachievers, those are the big danger type for not reproducing. If there is something to the idea that intelligence makes you less likely to want kids or want less kids, it kind of balances out.
Much more of a factor is ethics. This is the big one - greedy people are much more successful for the same performance and work level because they lie and cheat and fake to get ahead. They are basically thieves. Secondly, they don't worry about how they will look after kids, many knock up women and then disappear, leaving some other man or organization to foot the bill.
It's greed. We're evolving greed and treachary.
