Hank Hill not only tolerates...but enjoys Soccer now? I'm done. I had to turn this episode off halfway through, it was just too unbelievable.

Hank always hated soccer. I don't think that living in Saudi Arabia and admiring the lawn on a soccer field would all of a sudden cause him to start watching and enjoying it. If he's on the compound for Americans there, they still let them watch American sports and have feeds for NFL games and such.

It's just absurd. Not only does Hank tolerate soccer, but he even knows enough about the rules to be able to coach it for kids? Get outta here.

What's next? Hank buys a Japanese hybrid vehicle? Hank becomes a vegetarian? Hank Hill starts drinking white claws and seltzers instead of beer?

I speculate it was largely written by AI. I don't consume a lot of AI content, but I did, forgive me, happen to watch some of the stupid Seinfeld AI that ran on Twitch in like 2022? 2023? Anyway, it was awful, but one thing it always fucking talked about was new fusion restaurants. It's also very easy to tell that AI has a largely Indian bias, and so you have Hank Hill liking soccer, because the AI doesn't know Hank Hill but, sir, soccer is the most popular sport in the world, sanjay benchod bastard bitch man. So yes, to me the signs point heavily to the use of AI for the scripts of the new episodes.

Which is even weirder when you remember that there was an episode where Hank dealt with Bobby playing soccer and it didn't go well, at all, and lessons were learned that soccer is gay and Football was superior.
The new season is just a bastardized version of KoTH that's acting more like a serialization than standalone episodic plots that were funny and interesting.
Also, they're leaning way too heavy on Peggy. She was funny because she was a clueless narcissistic cunt, it stops being funny when she and everyone else is on the joke.

Soccer is based. American football was only popularized and promoted by the media in the 60s and 70s because the military realized football was good training to create soldiers to get drafted and then die in Vietnam. I'm not going to watch the new series but I've come to the conclusion that Mike Judge took dirty Saudi Arabian oil money in order to make this series. I don't know why it was so important to him to give fictional characters closure but he dedicated himself to this project and in order to make it happen this is what we get. A Hank that is neutered and weird. He gets off an airplane and the first thing he does in an airport terminal is "kiss the ground" but it looks like a muslim prayer I don't care who says otherwise. Besides you wouldn't kiss the inside of a *terminal*. That's foreigner behavior. Hank would unironically plant his lips on pure Texan soil not dirty floor that people walk over for 20 hours out of the day. Again, that's a foreigner thing. Then then first taxi driver we get is some guy some Saudi Arabia. Like...why? Who cares? And then Peggy is obnoxious with dropping little tidbits about the nation.

And there is no joke. It's just a Saudi Arabian man present in the story. He's just there. Saudi Arabia's presence is palpable in this series. Later on in the same episode something happens and Peggy mentions Saudi Arabia as presenting better alternatives to whatever was being offered in America and I cut the episode off.

All I cared to learn about was how Connie and Bobby were going to develop. I'm not going to watch the series I'm just going to continue to bop along the threads until I lose interest which has already begun because there's nothing left to discuss. But I seriously can't take Saudi Arabia trivia being pelted at me as "entertainment". And Hank is a typical American boomer. He wouldn't know who Messi is or whether it's a first name, a last name or if it belongs to a woman or not. He wouldn't gain an appreciation for soccer overnight like this. This is another aspect that has Saudi Arabia written all over it and just confirms to me that Judge thew in the towel quality wise.
