It's not about disliking subtitles. Subtitles are a necessary evil when watching movies made in other countries. This is virtue signalling by an American studio making their movie worse for no reason. It would be like having a silent movie for no reason, or having everyone in star trek speak klingon. It’s honestly insane how aggressively stupid non Americans are on this subject. I think the only way to convince these retards, is to have them watch a movie with subtitles, a language you don’t know. Memorize the experience. Then get fluent in that language and watch the movie again. It is objectively a better experience, you now pick up all the intricacies of the spoken dialogue you missed before, your attention isn’t being interrupted however briefly by glancing down at the subs. I have over 3 years of playtime on MUDs, if you know what that is, you know I am a faster reader objectively then anyone here(and also how much of a loser I am, but that’s beside the point). Subs are what you put up with if you don’t know the language, it’s not ideal. You should never make a show like this, especially to an audience not used to subs, because it’s a shit experience. Just hardcode the fucking subtitles on the screen in some pretty font or make sure you supply all the services with proper subtitle scripts that include the non-English parts??? It's even more infuriating because often there's a fix: change the subtitles to another language you know. Then they DO subtitle the natives. It's only the English ones that omit the stuff you actually need translated, for some godforsaken reason.

are an indistinguishable mess. Hard to tell who is who and what is what and where is where. They should have a map at start of episode at least.

The language is horrid a series of clicks and yaks. and what is at stake is just one bunch of savages clubbing another fro control of some small island . The only semi-redeeming interesting aspect is the colonial part of it and of course they made that as woke as fuck.
