Titanic
Rose did not cheat on Cal because in her mind she already broke up with him. Men need to understand rose did nothing wrong and that it wasn’t her fault

I haven’t seen the movie in so long but wasn’t it an arranged marriage? It’s not that bad to cheat if you literally forced to marry someone you didn’t wanna.

Cal was an older man that Rose, who was suppose to be a 17 year old girl, was forced to marry, so her family could keep their status.
Cal flips a table and screams at her. Rose is petrified at this, implying he has hit her before.
The story doesn't need to be spelt out for you. He didn't all of a sudden flip a table as if this was unusual for him. Furthermore, if someone flips a table, your reaction would probably be "Bro wtf?" You might be bewildered or mad. Rose looked more scared at Cal leaning in on her chair than she did at the Titanic sinking, meaning she has definitely been abused.
Another detail is abusers usually wait until they are in private to start, and they can be weirdly calm about it. Cal walked off like it was nothing. And the only person who saw was the maid, who Cal doesn't care if she sees because he doesn't treat maids (people beneath his status) like a person. He's a piece of shit in multiple ways here.
So Rose "cheated" on an old abusive man she was forced to marry against her will. That's fine.

>wah wah cal was MEAN!!
Did you miss how Jack's story about saving Rose made no sense and Cal was suspicious imediately?
Or how Cal saw Rose's unhappiness and wanted her to open to him?
Or the part where his fiance was getting hot and heavy with another man while LYING about it, AFTER Cal talked with Rose and thought everything was fine?

>but but hes MEAN
In 1912 women were subservient to men, thats how it was done and all women knew this. Sticking a 1990s feminist women in a 1912 storyline does nothing other than the annoying "lets not set the clocks back 100 years" shit that liberals do now.

That’s not even the issue. It’s her basically dismissing her late husband and the father of her children for a dude she knew for a couple days. That’s fucked and sadly reality

Truth. The modern woman will never settle down with you, you're temporary until she finds someone better, also she will fantasize about her previous partners during your relationship. Have fun.

This is why I hardly ever felt bad for Cal. This was a marriage that was gonna be doomed the moment rose had any taste of freedom. Cal isn’t some kind well meaning guy whose relationship with rose was built on some mutual love for each other, it was a transaction pure and simple. It was literal prostitution. This isn’t to say Rose is a perfect person either though,

This is the better and correct criticism of her.

aren't women the sex more likely to take winnings and walk away when gambling? why, when it's suddenly about men, do they continuously put their stack of chips back on the table?
