Were suits really expecting Fantastic Four, which hasn't had good media since like the mid-80's (and then in the form of comic books), to score a billion at the box office? Bad luck, imo.... each version of the movie had it's own set of problems.

Corman's F4 was patsy-job by the studio to keep the movie rights. T

Tim Story's F4 movies was 'okay'.... aside from the 'white-washing' of Jessica Alba, and some liberties taken with Dr.Doom...both movies were 'meh, okay' for it's time (before the MCU). It was too comedically "comic-book-ish"....and they fucked up Galactus, that alone killed this version of the franchise.

Trank's F4 is a trainwreck of legend. There's like a half-dozen documentaries out there about how fucked up that production was. Blackwashing Human Torch. Negative Zone with no Annihilus, and whatever the fuck they did with Dr.Doom....all because the studio wanted to save money with a indy-director that was too small for the shoes.

F4.... Pedro Pascal fatigue, Girl-Boss Sue Storm, toned-down Johnny Storm, ass-eating actor playing Thing, female-variant of the Silver Surfer that was used only ONCE in an obscure "Kingdom Come" rip-off story that Marvel did like 20 years ago; because used it for "THE MESSAGE"....at least they got Galactus right....

I don’t watch capeshit but I saw Superman with my kids. The plot was extremely thin and the CGI dependence is annoying. I can’t be amazed by CGI whatsoever I’d rather see a fraction of the effects but using models and real effects. I was also amazed that adults not only seek out this shit but they also excitedly anticipate it, talk about its box office success as if it’s the most important thing in the world and are otherwise very emotionally involved.
