No, they're pretty awful and outdated. I've seen probably 10 movies that were pre-brosnan and I don't remember a thing about any of them.

>You dropped this, king.

Really the only classic Bond I would skip is Diamonds Are Forever which is actual dogshit. Even the goofiest Moore films like Moonraker and AVTAK are quite enjoyable.

Troll is obvious. Let's discuss the best films. The correct answer is that The Living Daylights is the best Bond film with The best Bond song and best Bond. The other correct answer is that License To Kill has the best Bond girl.

I'd say yes very much so

Personally I love the Moore era because I grew up on it, and Dalton is cool too. I think Connery's era is overrated but it has its moments for sure.

Don't take my word for it or anyone else's, because Bondfags can never agree on anything, so just try them and find out for yourself

Those are the only ones worth watching. Brosnan killed James Bond. Sure, he was the last one where they kinda tried to emulate the old Bonds, but it didn't work. That last guy, whatever his name was, wasn't Bond at all. It had nothing to do with Bond, aside from the character names. No wit, no charm. Just generic, boring action movies with a sad, pathetic main character who wasn't allowed to do anything that defined James Bond.

Timothy Dalton's first outing was like if you took the Bond from the books and went halfway on the tone going between Roger Moore camp and Daniel Craig
Dalton's second film is exactly like what Bond is in the books

All of them are pretty good, even up until the first two Craigs. Once Sam Mendes rolls along, the series becomes unsalvageable garbage.
>>213502226
Licence to Kill is the best movie the series has put out, hands down. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace come close to it but it's easily the best because it doesn't outright reject fun and adventure for the drama. It mixes both perfectly. I prefer Bond to be able to do both dark and gritty and fun and campy but it takes writers of immense skill to pull off and none of them are around today.

License to Kill is great because it's Bond being an agent provocateur fucking with the villain from the edges until he makes the whole operation collapse
it's EXACTLY how Bond operates in the books

forgot about this one, it was the first miss before Golden Gun
worst part is, Diamonds are Forever is a really good book and the adaptation fucks it up completely
if Amazon wants to "expand" the franchise, hiring a core team to do book-accurate adaptations set in the actually time period might be the way to go in-between the regular marquee entries

That's the beauty of it though, it's completely low stakes and feels 'beneath' Bond. That's what makes it more fun for me and other TMWTGG fans, it feels like a fun side story or deleted scenes movie like Goldfinger sort of is (at least in the book). It's just nice to have a small scale one before we get to The Spy Who Loved Me, which is honestly one of the best if not the most complete Bond movie ever made.

I watched Casino Royale and man, talk about perfecting everything around a shitty lead actor. I mean, everything but Craig is so fucking good that it makes this homosexual russian midget look like Bond somehow. Campbell is a genius when it comes to Bond.

Shirley Bassey did a great job on Goldfinger, but DAF (the song) is super repetitive, and the hook falls flat. Compare it to the tender sweetness of We Have All The Time In The World before it and the high energy of Live and Let Die after and it just pales in comparison.

Craig really didn't age well. He works as a raw, nervy beginner Bond in CR but in all the rest he looks haggard and just plays diet-Dalton.

Goldeneye is LITERALLY the only James Bond movie worth watching. Everything beforehand looks like fucking shit, everything afterwards with Brosnan fell victim to "it's Le future" shitty special effects, and everything with Craig is sucks because Daniel Craig plays Bond like he has fuckin Asperger's.

I think the only good Bond movies are the ones with Dalton and Brosnan because they actually look like Ian Fleming's James Bond whereas the rest are completely miscast.

Too working class peasant-like, brown eyes.

Everything before Pierce is good to great. Everything after GoldenEye is hot human faecal matter.

Top 3:

Dr No is a really good proof of concept debut for the series, combined with the fact that (and this is hard for non boomers to realize), the fact that there was NOTHING like the film when it came out; especially since the James Bond novels were not well known in the US and the tv adaptation of Casino Royale had flopped and vanished so as to not leave any sort of impression. So Dr No was like a revelation that made a huge impact upon people. It's also why From Russia With Love gets such a bad wrap and why Goldfinger ended up a huge hit, bigger than Dr No; it's more realistic but fans WANTED the over the top villains and silly gadgets that made Bond Bond
