>marries a loyal and amazing man that loves her
Totally wrong. The comic makes it pretty clear that Schexnayder acted opportunistically and was interested in Sally primarily for the money he could make with her brand. In Under the Hood, Hollis states that Schexnayder convinced Sally not to press charges on the Comedian to save the reputation of the minutemen and his financial interests in them. Sally is an emotionally stunted attention whore, but it is unnecessary to bastardize the source material to self insert as a conniving, glorified pimp in a green text. It might not matter to you, but the difference between how you see her husband and how he is actually portrayed is important for understanding what the comic is attempting to say about intimacy and human connection. Like most if not all of the characters in Watchmen, Sally sought human connection, but due to her selfish behavior was unable to find it which in turn led to further self destruction. Although her story is a woman moment, she is just one of many characters in the comic who exemplifies how personal flaws can isolate us from others and tear society apart.
