Are there any jumpscares that go beyond just making you jump and genuinely stay with you even after the moment's over?

There's a shot in Apocaylpse Now just after the Vietnam village gets bombed. The soldiers are walking through the village and in the background you can see dead children on the ground.

The way the film doesn't give a close up, and frames the dead kids in the background as near inconsequential has always stuck with me.

It's amusing how lame the screencap looks out of context but the scene itself is so well done, how it's three minutes of quiet exposition and flashbacks and then just breaks every rule of logic and expectation to put the motherfucker in the room with them in broad daylight, mid-sentence
I swear 11 movies and $2.9 billion spawned off of the strength of this one scene in theaters

That fucking scene in Sunshine where they flash the pictures of the dead astronauts. I legit thought there was something wrong with my rental and someone fucked with my copy to put something incriminating. That was the most spooked I've ever been watching a film, I legitimately had to ask others who have seen it about the particular scene but they were never freaked out like I was.

It's so overwrought, at times campy, but he's brave enough to go for it and that counts even when it fails

The thing itself isn't scary, it's how it's just appears. Sunshine is not really a horror film until the last act where it becomes really goofy so seeing that shit is unnerving and really fucked me up like no other film has with monsters and dead people jumpscaring you with a loud sound.

You don't really see what the image is when you're watching the movie at full speed properly. You're just flashed something other than what was previously on screen.
I wouldn't describe it as "scary" but it is a little unnerving and confusing if you don't immediately understand what's going on.
