To get the context of that scene, Clark has always wanted a brother. His mum has lost her baby before, and Clark has also seen a young boy die who he'd seen as a brother as well. He was very clearly pining for that sense of belonging, a family and brothers he could relate to. Which is why he wanted Bart to stay. He saw him as an equal, someone he could have a brotherly bond with, someone he hoped he could influence into being a better person so that Bart wouldn't spend his life stealing all the time. So Clark asking him to stay isn't gay in the slightest.

Why was this show so unbelievably satisfying. There is not a single bad thing I can say about it. It's like the perfect teen show and the perfect Superman show.
