Dexter, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and BCS are pretty much the biggest brainrot shows of all time. Go look up any clips of the shows. 9/10 the comments will be flooded with memes about the shows. They stuck around, just in a very meme-y kind of way.

The Wire or even Mad Men have no cultural impact despite being praised in their day. Even fucking OZ had more staying power. Breaking Bad and The Sopranos are the only series from the "golden age of TV" who still remain relevant and are still being rewatched to this day.

BB was the biggest and most acclaimed show of the 10s.

The impact was in the way 'prestige TV' is made rather than in terms of making direct copycats.

Saying that Breaking Bad has no cultural impact is absurd. It was a hit tv show, a meme for years after that, people still reference it all the time and this board has at least a half a dozen posts a day complaining about how breaking bad is dumb and undeserving of the praise and how BCS shit the bed. BOTH OF THEM ARE GOOD. Breaking bad is better of course but you contrarian faggots drive me up the wall.

Wire and Mad Men don’t have meme moments like BB or Sopranos which make them stay in people’s conscious and allow them to make constant jokes. People in general don’t care about mad men, it was on AMC the same time as BB and TWD. Plus, it’s just people in suits talking which won’t appeal to a wide audience

Lasting cultural impact is indeed important. Perhaps you could argue art can have a great influence in the moment, having an effect that indirectly is lasting, while the artwork itself doesn’t seemingly remain relevant or impactful.

That’s true as well; just because something sticks around in the zeitgeist doesn’t mean it’s of any significant value.

Wut. You literally cannot have genX fucktards in writing team without mentioning that whatever they do will be like BB with magic, or BB in space or BB in postapo.
Breaking Bad did irreparable damage to entertainment industry.

Don't know about Sopranos, but both Breaking bad and Dexter can be cut down into tight 2 hours long 7/10 movies. The rest is as you said brainrot and empty stuffing.

BCS ending was so bad it made Breaking Bad worse retroactively.

BCS is one of the best shows ever made. Up there with The Wire, Andor, and Arcane Season 1.

Give an example of a show from the same time as Breaking Bad that left a cultural impact, or better yet, prove that Breaking Bad left no cultural impact.
