really just did not 'get' I Saw the TV Glow. i can even vaguely get the transgender 'themes' but it just felt like floaty meandering nonsense. and not in some David Lynch way where i don't get it but it's clearly for some people, i feel like it was just bad.

best troon film is Boys Don't Cry. fuck your imagery and 'um, TV shows like, MEANT something to me!', it's just about a sequence of events that kind-of happened. feels like it was made by (and for) grown-ups.

Did not understand the hype. The concept is neat but the film is very clunky. The pacing is terrible with how it goes back and forth from (mediocre) dramatic scenes to (decent mostly) horror sequences. I fucking hated the characters, especially the main character who was profoundly retarded. Which is usually fine for a horror movie, but in this one it asks you to take the dramatic parts seriously and he is too fucking insufferable. Some really poor special effects at points too, poor enough to be immersion breaking.

Watch fingers 2019. Indie and weird, nit super artsy but more dark comedy. Beginning 20min or so is a bit of a slog but it gets good after
