yeah I couldn't tell if my brain just adjusted to the shitiness but the animation got a lot better. some of the comedic timing is stilted and really weird at some points, but you have to admire the writing team for hiring individuals with disabilities having a VAGina

Derivative, for lack of a better term.
Some good ideas but in execution feels at times as bland and uninspired as later episodes of the original run. Coupled with its limited animation budget, reliance on nostalgia and social commentary that's aging faster than Boomhauer in a tanning booth it's no different to me than most current year revivals of long-dead intellectual properties. 6/10 take it or leave it.

The reboot tries to be both a drama and comedy cartoon and fails at both. The laughs are few and far between, the progressive exposition is high and the premise for the plots just aren't fun. I was hoping the reboot would recapture the magic from the first couple seasons. Instead it feels like the DEI writers used chatgpt to continue the shitty later seasons but worse. The animation is objectively bad and soulless. Some of the voice acting is similarly atrocious. It's legit no better than a 2/10.

Its about on par with the later seasons of King of the Hill. You get a chuckle every now and then. Also like those seasons, there a few too many "look we're in modern times" references. The characters all act little more different too, and will bend for the sake of a joke.
Final verdict is you could take or leave it, not much to gain or lose.

I found the tone very true to the original. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Was it 10/10 can't miss TV? No. But it was the show I loved back for more episodes. Zero complaints from this guy.

I like the show so I liked it okay. Only seen 3 eppies and my favorite was the beer brewing one.

It was great. Solid season considering the current climate. I hope there's second season.

It felt like eating 30c ramen, unfilling.
The first half reduces Peggy to an ego maniac and Flanderises Hank whole trying achingly hard to dance around ever addressing Trump.

Some of the stuff like Dale being to paranoid to accept an election win is cute, as is the final ep about start ups, which is about as close as the series gets to the OG series but it misses something, like it has the both-sidesing and tropes shell of the OG series. But the actual writing, particularly the writing of character relationships is lacking.

Even in the later seasons of the OG, when the writing fell off, there were some good Eps where you wanted to keep watching to see how they'd interact with each other. But there's nothing essential about the new series. Even Hank and Bobby at the cowboys camp feels like a retread.

Damn. I just finished the third episode where Bobby is being accused of being a cultural appropriator and it was woke as fuck. Bobby meeting a black Japanese man is such a stretch lmao. Does it get worse than this? The craft beer episode was solid, but goddamn this was hard to sit through. Also I like Keith David, but his character feels so out of place. It's very much a token character and insultingly obvious

Am I the only one who thought Peggy sounded terrible? I know it's the same VA but she sounded extremely old, and had a bunch of weird prim inflections that I don't remember from the original

All things considered pretty solid but then again in this world of remakes and reheated slop its not a high bar to clear. Voices are jarring at times but that's to be expected, but some of the recasts don't sit right, especially Kahn. Dude's not even Laotian either so sack his worthless ass.

Too much Saudi Arabia trivia. I hate it. I just visit the threads to dump on Connie and Bobby's stupid mackerel dish and about how the ages wildly don't match up so this comes off like a non canon extension that no one needed. Judge didn't need to compromise his integrity just to give closure to fictional characters. Peggy is "on" too much of the time and I don't like an old lady pretending to sound excited in my ear with every line.

It's not bad. Kind of grew on me. And it seems somewhat self aware at least.
Connie becoming a woke whore is accurate.
Bill still being a loser is accurate.
Bobby being an autistic failed normie but still gets some pussy is accurate.
The animation feels overly smooth and too clean if that makes sense.
So basically, 6.6/10.
Previous KOTH is like solid 7.3/10.
They should've shook things up and finished the Dale/Nancy/Redcorn shit, and then confirm if Dale knew all along or SHTF and he becomes like Bill or something, for awhile, but then schizos out and thinks the government wants him to give up, so he goes and gets himself a hot 19 year old GF.

New voice actors are terrible. No memorable episodes. Connie is a whore. 4/10.

Its like another show meant to 'educate' people on how left-wing values and make people who disagree/don't care seem dumb, uneducated, or hateful.
It feels like they are hijacking the KoTh identity, flanderizing it as an excuse to talk about their political views.

im on episode 7, but i have had to skip parts of episodes to be extremely boring, cringe, and something ive already 100 different shows say almost verbatim.
Its like they are going on a checklist, in a way that isnt even natural for the characters or town, to go through their own personal politics/social values.

Like every single thing is about a left-wing politics value/ideal/or stereotype against white people. Seven episodes in and it doesnt feel like king of the hill.

I don't think Hank gave a shit that they renamed the Samoas. The reason why worked for him. He was just looking for a sign that he and the USA hadn't grown apart so he wouldn't step on the next plane to Saudi Arabia.

The dialogue is fucking awful and I really don't remember everyone in KotH talking like
