Halo was the worst offender of this. They had some strong black women spartan, an emotionally vulnerable Chief, and a love story between Chief and Cortana. Did anyone who played Halo 3 love it for its riveting emotional drama? Did any of them play the games? This should have been the easiest cash grab in Hollywood history, and somehow they fucked it up.

No, you don't understand what legacy means. And Alien never had that. It had Ripley in the first movies where she was not a lead. She was a survivor that didn't die like the rest. Then they took the wrong lesson from that and decided every movie needed her, which made them suck. Then they took the wrong lesson from that and decided every movie needed some strong female character to focus on and tell everyone else they're dumb. Which made those suck. Then retards like you took the wrong lesson from that and made up some ficticious rule that all alien movies are required to have a tough girl lead because it's tradition.
