Another good example is the da vinci code parody. I didn't watch the movie or read the book, and I had no idea who any of the characters besides the pope were, but it still works because it's applicable to pretty much any conspiracy.

Most likely he would have received a modest fine at most because he's elderly and there's a two tiered justice system.
