I go out in the woods with a bucket of stones. I assign kino titles to objects in the distance and throw them. Whatever title the stone hits, I watch.

Go onto 4plebs and search for letterboxd threads and add people whose taste is good.
Also, RYM has great functionality for finding stuff, it has way more genres and ways to filter and youll find something interesting. Same goes for looking through themed lists which you can see on a particular film on the left side

I just look at which movies are generally considered interesting. It doesn't mean they're good. But at least they're not boring. There's nothing worse that middle brow cinema.

I do generic searches to find obscure movies in whatever genre I'm interested in and then I read movie synopsis and if one sounds interesting I watch a trailer for it and if still looks interesting I watch the movie.
